Islamabad: To make Islamabad a more beautiful, lush, and vibrant city, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, Captain (Retired) Anwar ul Haq, has directed a rapid tree planting campaign around various parks, green belts, intersections, roads, and drains with the participation of private sectors.
As part of this initiative, a tree plantation drive was conducted in Fatima Jinnah Park on Sunday in collaboration with AAS Humanitarian, in which representatives from Islamabad Particular Society and other organizations, as well as citizens, participated. Chairman CDA also planted a tree as part of the private sector’s contribution.
In this Sunday’s tree plantation campaign, CDA planted various types of 500 trees in collaboration with private sectors, which are suitable for the local environment. An awareness camp was also organized on the occasion to educate the citizens about environmental matters.
The participants of the tree plantation drive were also informed about the protection of planted trees and measures to reduce environmental pollution. Citizens emphasized that every individual should participate in tree plantation campaigns according to their capacity to ensure a significant reduction in environmental pollution.
On this occasion, Captain (Retired) Anwar ul Haq, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), mentioned that environmentally friendly initiatives are being taken with the participation of private sectors. He further stated that the active participation of private sectors in Islamabad’s environmental-friendly activities is highly commendable.
