This was inferred from a report in the World Crime Index, a regularly updated list published by Numbeo, which is a crowd-sourced global database of reported consumer prices, perceived crime rates, quality of health care and other statistics.

The findings were issued after Numbeo conducted a survey in 374 cities with 799,900 participants. As per the report, the capital of Pakistan has witnessed a decrease of around 4% in the crime rate.

Inspector-General of Police Islamabad Mohammad Aamir Zulfiqar hailed the report, claiming that the decline in criminal activities was a direct result of his department’s effective strategy.

According to the spokesperson of Islamabad Police, the crime rate in the city has dropped by 13% in 2019, while cases of burglary, snatching, kidnapping for ransom, and robbery have decreased substantially.
