Islamabad, Pakistan – In a bold move to enhance tourism and recreational opportunities in the capital, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, announced on Monday that the city will soon see the launch of several groundbreaking projects, including a safari park, zip lines, and cable cars. These initiatives are designed not only to boost tourism but also to improve the overall quality of life for Islamabad’s residents.
Speaking to a private news channel, Randhawa outlined the CDA’s ambitious vision to transform Islamabad into a key tourist destination, while fostering a more vibrant, modern urban environment. Discussions with potential development partners, including AV Tech, are already underway, with the projects set to roll out in phases once agreements are finalized.
“These initiatives will be pivotal in enhancing Islamabad’s tourism appeal, while also offering exciting recreational opportunities for the local community,” Randhawa said. He emphasized that the projects are part of a long-term strategy to elevate the city’s global profile and ensure its sustainable growth.

The safari park, zip lines, and cable car installations are expected to draw both domestic and international tourists, positioning Islamabad as a must-see destination. These developments are aligned with the CDA’s broader vision to blend the city’s rich cultural heritage with modern infrastructure, creating a dynamic and thriving metropolis.
In addition to tourism projects, Randhawa also highlighted ongoing infrastructure improvements. The CDA is on track to complete critical roadworks, including underpasses at Serena Hotel, Jinnah Underpass, and Srinagar Highway. With final architectural details nearing completion, these projects are expected to be fully operational within the next week.
The CDA is also taking proactive steps to address Islamabad’s water supply challenges. Randhawa revealed plans to establish a new Islamabad Water Agency, which has already received Cabinet approval. The agency will coordinate with international donors to implement sustainable solutions to the city’s water issues.
