Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the newly established digital parking on Friday, accompanied by board members and officers from relevant formations of the CDA. During the visit, Chairman Randhawa was given a comprehensive briefing on the system’s functionality and future expansion plans.

In its initial phase, the digital parking system is offering free-of-charge parking to raise public awareness. “We want to familiarize citizens with the convenience and efficiency of digital parking. It’s a step toward modernizing the city and offering hassle-free services,” a CDA officer explained during the briefing.

One of the key features of this cutting-edge system is its contactless digital payment process. Visitors can obtain parking tickets without leaving their cars, streamlining the entire parking experience. The system offers seven payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, QR codes, and scratch cards, ensuring ease of use for all.

The CDA’s technology wing, responsible for developing the digital parking system, has ambitious plans for its rollout across the city. In the first phase, digital parking will be introduced in F-7 Markaz, Centaurus Mall, and the Blue Area Parking Plaza. The system is also set to expand to other major business hubs in the near future, improving parking infrastructure across Islamabad.

Chairman Randhawa emphasized that the revenue generated from the digital parking system will be reinvested into the uplift of the respective markets. He further remarked, “Digital parking will not only improve the parking experience for citizens but also boost business and the local economy. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”

With its digital parking initiative, Islamabad is positioning itself as a forward-thinking city that embraces technology for the benefit of its residents and businesses.
