Islamabad: In a bid to tackle the recurring fires in Margalla Hills and prevent the outbreak of dengue fever, the local administration has enforced Section 144 in the federal capital. An official notification, issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, has mandated the immediate implementation of Section 144 for a duration of two months.
This directive prohibits the act of starting fires in the Margalla Hills and sets restrictions on littering. The decision comes in response to the mounting instances of fires in the picturesque hills, causing considerable concern.
Another notification highlights the administration’s commitment to take action against those contributing to water accumulation within Islamabad.
The accumulation of water in streets, alleys, houses, and tire repair shops has raised significant alarms regarding the potential spread of dengue fever. These preventive measures will remain in effect for two months, and any violations of Section 144 will be dealt with according to the legal provisions outlined in Section 188.
