Islamabad: Under the guidance of Captain (Retired) Anwar-ul-Haq, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), significant efforts are being made in the city to promote healthy activities.
In line with these initiatives, the CDA, in collaboration with the Islamabad Cycling Association and Islamabad Run with Us, organized the first Islamabad Duathlon event at F-9 Park on Sunday. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from citizens across Pakistan.
The Islamabad Duathlon introduced a unique format where athletes first ran, then cycled, and finally ran again. Competitors were required to achieve various goals within specified time frames, making it a challenging and exciting endeavor.
Athletes were categorized into two groups: Olympic and Sprint, with the latter being for shorter distances while the former aimed at more ambitious targets. Some athletes also chose to participate individually.
Following the competition, Chairman Anwar-ul-Haq distributed prizes to the successful athletes, further motivating them to excel in their respective fields. The event received positive feedback from the citizens, and it was evident that the administration’s efforts were appreciated.
Chairman Anwar-ul-Haq expressed his commitment to promoting healthy activities in Islamabad and stated that the CDA would continue to organize such events in the future. He emphasized that the CDA remains dedicated to fostering sports and boosting the morale of athletes in the city.
