Islamabad: The Institute of Architects Pakistan Rawalpindi-Islamabad Chapter held a three day event of IAPEX 2019- Building Material and Product Exhibition from the 15th to 17th March.
The expo appreciated extensive contributions of architects in shaping the environment and provided collaboration opportunities for stakeholders of the building industry. Participating beneficiaries were architectural students, professionals, realty developers, government officials and general public.
Graana Group of Companies CEO Shafiq Akbar appreciated the role of the Institute of Architects Pakistan. He emphasized on the need for policymaking to address challenges faced by the industry. “Intelligent policy making and effective implementation is the fix to all problems in Pakistan including real estate.” he added.
While discussing urban policy being a crucial part in any architectural manifestation, he pressed upon the need of statistics for policy making. “There has been only one research in 2007 by the Minister of Commerce at that time,” he added, while promising to make efforts towards it.
Other key figures at the expo included President of the IAP Ar. Muhammad Arif Changezi, Chairman IAP-RIC Ar. Faisal Arshad and Chief Convener IAP-RIC Ar. Rana Atif Rehman.
