ISLAMABAD: While speaking to a webinar on Wednesday, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Ministry of Overseas and Human Resource Development (HRD) Zulfiqar Bukhari said that integrated tourism strategy will place Pakistan on the global travel map.
Speaking on the occasion, the SAPM was of the view that across the globe the contribution of the tourism industry to the GDP of different countries is 10pc however the contribution of the tourism sector in the GDP of Pakistan is below three percent.
The SAPM also stated that the tourism industry is the key to the creation of employment opportunities in the country and it can generate revenues for the country in a minimal period of time.
As per the details, the SAPM shed a light on the creation of the National Tourism Board which is serving as a platform for all the provinces for creating an integrated tourism policy.
