HYDERABAD: In a bid to restore heritage sites and boost tourism, Commissioner Abbas Baloch has directed relevant officials and archaeology departments to uplift various buildings across the city.
The buildings include Sindh University Old Campus, KP Azeem Khan Building, Basant Hall, Pakka Qila, Jamia Arabia High School, Neval Rai High School, Thora Charhi Girls School, Sindh Government Law College, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences building, Ganga Ram Building, Mukhee House and Market Tower.
In addition, Assistant Commissioner Ayesha Abro was given directives to rehabilitate the historic Ladies Club and utilise the space for the purpose for which the club was established.
Similarly, Baloch instructed the Sindh culture department to inform private owners of historic buildings and heritage sites about the laws prohibiting the demolition and destruction of such structures.
Furthermore, the relevant officials attending the meeting were given the mandate to remove the banners around these historic sites.
