Graana.com is proud to share the wonderful milestones we have recently covered at the renowned Istanbul Youth Summit 2023. Our CSR spokesperson, Zoha Javed, on behalf of the company and Pakistan, presented the project of TameerSeTaleem and delegated for social good at the summit. We are pleased to inform you that our representative was the only delegate worldwide to bring home three awards for Pakistan!
TameerSeTaleem promotes the concept of reusing construction waste and leftover material for the rehabilitation of underprivileged schools in slum areas. With a successful pilot project implemented in Pakistan’s capital city, the time was to disseminate the idea internationally. Istanbul Youth Summit 2023 presented just the right opportunity and it was wonderful to see that our project got selected out of 22000 international applications and was awarded full-fund category.
Istanbul Youth Summit 2023 is the sixth international summit organized by Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) foundation based in Istanbul with its origin in Indonesia. The Summit aims to encourage young leaders to break through their abilities and promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their respective domains. This year’s Summit focused on 5 SDGs:
- Good Health and Well Being
- Quality Education
- Decent Work and Economic Growth
- Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- Sustainable Cities and Communities.
TameerSeTaleem made rounds with a respectable jury under the theme of “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, and the powerful campaign secured international awards in the three categories of ‘Best Presenter’, ‘Best Essay’, and ‘Best Group’. Our representative led a team of seven Indonesians, applied the TameerSeTaleem research model to Indonesia, and made a case for its implementation in the country. Our representative also led the summit panel sessions on SDG 4 of Quality Education and SDG 8 of Decent Work and Economic Growth with Andieleigh F. Laudisio, the Director of Dialogue Institute, and Dr Hylmun Izhar, a Senior Economist and Member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group.
The Summit included insightful mentorship sessions from renowned experts and sustainability pioneers; Khaled Khalifa, Regional Representative, United Nations Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR); Kunrat Wirasubrata, the Chairman of I-Kindi; Randa Mohammad Gharib, the Deputy Minister of Youth of the State of Libya; Professor Mehmet Asutay, the Professor of Middle Eastern and Islamic Political Economy & Finance from Durham University; Fawad Afridi, Founder and CEO of Scholarships Corner; and Artha Darwaman, the IP Researcher endorsed by the famous Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition.
