MULTAN: The Punjab Government has established the largest quarantine centre at Multan Industrial Estate by transforming the newly constructed flats into a 3,000 bedded facility to cater the patients of Coronavirus.
The facility is divided into 62 blocs, consisting of 16 flats, and having three rooms each. Over 100 security cameras have also been installed as a part of the security plan for the quarantine centre.
Depending on the circumstances, the quarantine facility hospital will be extended into a 6,000 bedded hospital.
At present, a 100 Bedded Hospital with five beds high dependency unit has also been set up at the centre and is being operated by a staff of 300 staff personnel to cater to the 1247 pilgrims being shifted, informed Deputy commissioner Amir Khatak.
An isolation ward of 45 beds has also been established.
Each pilgrim will be provided with the basic necessities, including the basic toiletries to maintain personal hygiene. Apart from three meals a day, the city district administration would also provide feeders, diapers and milk for children.
In addition, the provincial government has also released a grant of Rs5 billion that will be utilised for surveillance and the risk management of the spread of COVID19, informed Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
