ISLAMABAD: The ban on the construction of high-rise buildings in the vicinity of airports in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Peshawar to be lifted by the government.
A federal cabinet meeting had been scheduled for Tuesday, in which approval to lift the ban was one of the points related to the Aviation Ministry regarding high-rise constructions at Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Multan airports. Due to the meeting had been postponed because of the Kashmir issue, formal approval to lift the ban has not yet been passed.
For the development of this law to progress further, developmental authorities of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Multan will have to amend their building by-laws that allow multi-storey buildings in the vicinity of airports and other areas.
