LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Thursday laid the foundation stone of the Sheranwala Gate flyover project worth Rs5 billion.
Apart from connecting the old and new Lahore, the project is aimed to resolve the traffic issues in the provincial capital.
The authorities have completed the Lala Shahbaz Qalandar Underpass, whereas work on the Gulab Devi Underpass and Shahkam Chowk overhead bridge project will be completed soon,” informed CM Punjab while briefing on the project.
Provincial Minister Khayal Ahmad Kastro, Senator Ejaz Ch., LDA Director General Special Assistant to Chief Minister Hasaan Khawar, Sadia Sohail MPA, and other relevant personalities were among the attendees of the event.
In addition, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is constructing a new sewerage line with the flyover project, along with parking plazas at various locations.
The plans of various ongoing development projects were also revealed on the event., an underpass will be constructed to overcome traffic blockage from Cavalry Ground to DHA, a turbo roundabout will also be constructed at Shahdara Chowk, underground water storage tanks will be constructed to store rainwater, a mother and child block at Ganga Ram Hospital will be completed with Rs7 billion, a new 1000-bed general hospital will be constructed at Ferozepur Road and 400-bed emergency blocks will be built at Services Hospital, Jinnah Hospital and Ferozepur Road it was announced.
Apart from this, the control of Badshahi Mosque has been given to the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), it was announced.
