LAHORE: Foreign firms are taking interest in investing in Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), which approves of Prime Minster Imran Khan’s credibility at the international level, Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said.
While meeting a delegation of investors and experts from Dubai and China with regards to NPHP, the minister received briefing from the firms about their potential plans for constructing low-cost housing under the country’s flagship housing programme.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary Housing Naseem Sadiq, Punjab DG Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) Liaqat Chatha, General Secretary Housing Taskforce Atif Ayub and other relevant officers.
The delegation comprised of representatives of private office of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, China Construction Design International and China Railway Construction Corporation.
The minister said that global expertise in housing and construction is critical to the successful accomplishment of the project, which is only possible if foreign firms are provided investment-friendly platforms in Pakistan.
Secretary Housing Naseem Sadiq and PHATA DG Liaqat Chatha gave briefing to the delegation regarding various administrative and legal affairs of NPHP.
The members of the delegation were asked to submit their proposals after their visit to PHATA-administered land in Lahore and Faisalabad.
