ISLAMABAD: The technical and financial proposals submitted for the Rs70 billion Leh Expressway project have been approved.
The project scheduled to be initiated this year will be constructed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. In addition, a sewage plant has also been added to the construction plan.
A sum of Rs24 million has been allocated by the federal and Punjab government, whereas Rs10 million will be funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the sewage treatment project.
The PC-1 of the project will be submitted to the federal government for further approval, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) announced.
Under this project, the authority will set up large trunks to process the sewage, ensuring a flow of clean water in Nullah Leh.
