FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) on the directives of the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab, announced the construction of a boundary wall worth Rs 7 million to protect residents against industrial waste.
The wall aims to shield the inhabitants from the hazardous pollutants originating from nearby industrial units, which have been responsible for the improper disposal of industrial waste and the dumping of sewage into the watercourse.
As per a statement released by the FDA’s spokesperson on Wednesday, the Director General of the authority has ordered the environment protection department and the municipal corporation to take strict action against the responsible industrial units in Samana village.
The objective behind this order is to mitigate the grave hazards of environmental pollution and relieve the inhabitants of FDA City from its detrimental effects.
This move by FDA is a significant step towards safeguarding the lives of people residing in the area, who have long been suffering from the adverse effects of environmental pollution.
With the construction of this boundary wall and the Director General’s proactive measures, the residents of FDA City can now look forward to a cleaner and safer environment.
