Established in 1978, the park covers an area of approximately 837 acres. It was formerly a reserve forest that was used for forestry research, fuelwood production, and timber harvesting.
The development of the park took place on about 456 acres of the whole area. Since then, the park has been transformed into a theme park that features a wide range of entertainment, educational, and cultural activities.
This botanical garden in Lahore is one of the best places to visit with children as it provides an opportunity to learn more about different kinds of plants as well as wildlife.
There is no entrance fee required, and the recreational facilities provided inside are also extremely affordable.
One of Lahore’s most exquisite parks, Jallo Park is situated on Jallo Road, which is also connected to Canal Road. It is located adjacent to Lahore Ring Road and Grand Trunk Road.
Thus, it is easily accessible from the main areas of the city. Sky Land Water Park, Sozo Water Park, and Shalimar Gardens are some of the neighbouring attractions.

Jallo Park is a popular tourist destination, especially because of the Butterfly House located there. However, that is not the only point of interest in the park.

A wide range of exotic animal species are also conserved in the park, including the common pheasant, Indian peafowl, rock pigeon, Asian black bear, Bactrian camel, chital, chinkara, sambar, Indian cobra, mugger crocodile, and so on.
The Jallo Park Butterfly House is the first of its kind in Lahore. Around 3000 kinds of imported butterflies from all over the world are housed in this sanctuary.
A 300-foot tube, this is the best location for the insects. A butterfly lab is also located there and, in addition to being a museum, it educates tourists about the many different species that live there.
Due to the fact that butterflies cannot survive in high temperatures, the environment in the area is closely monitored.
The Butterfly House also has a butterfly tunnel, waterfalls, a stream, a collection of larvae, a rearing chamber, an aquarium, and a gift shop.
The timings of Butterfly House are 10:00 AM – 05:00 PM. Please be aware that the ticket you purchase for this area is only valid for 15 minutes, but that shouldn’t be an issue since this is plenty of time to thoroughly explore it.
