SHANGLA: The provincial government has been making efforts to streamline the supply of electricity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, informed Chief Minister Mahmood Khan (KP) as he inaugurated a 132KV grid station in Shang, Bisham on Wednesday.
With PESCO focusing on the recovery of dues and filling vacancies, issues related to the power supply would be addressed by upgrading transmission lines and transformers to overcome the problems of low voltage and power outages.
An official of PESCO briefed that the grid station will be energised in two days as work in this regard was still in progress. With a pledge to overcome arrears in the area, PESCO will also replace the old and rusted poles and transmission lines for safe and secure power supply.
The newly-built 132KV grid station will supply power to Chakesar tehsil. In addition to this, CM KP inaugurated a bus stand and upgraded the tehsil headquarters hospital from category D to category C.
CM KP further announced a special water supply project for Bisham city and its surrounding villages. The government has planned to establish shelter homes in every district. The first phase of this plan would be kicked off from the divisional headquarters to facilitate non-locals in these areas. Sehat Insaf cards will also be issued to all people of the province through the national identity cards, he further added.
Funds have also been allocated for links roads, water supply schemes and other projects in the budget for the fiscal year 2019-20, which would be spent on the development of the district.
