The proceedings took place in a meeting which was chaired by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan. A further five projects at a cost of Rs112.20bn were also recommended to the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) in the same meeting.

One of the approved schemes is a transport and communication project titled ‘Construction of Bridge over River Ravi at Mal Fatyana District Toba Tek Singh’, for which an amount of Rs1.9bn has been allocated.

A project aimed at improving livelihood and well-being of female home-based workers in Sindh, worth Rs541.09 million, was also given the go-ahead by the CDWP.
