Economy changing for the better, SBP Governor

Karachi: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Govenor Reza Baqir addressed the flag hoisting ceremony that took place in the State Bank Building as part of celebration of Pakistan’s 73rd Independence Day. During the address, he said that the economy is faced with several problems and uncertainty, but the situation is changing.

Baqir, while admitting that the economy is weak with rising unemployment and growing inflation rates, stated that the country is headed in the right direction. “I assure you that we are moving in right direction and if we continue to move in this direction with commitment, we will surely achieve the prosperity, development and the targets set by the government,” he said.

He also said that the economic team is working on a plan to help achieve economic development and benefit low-income and middle class segments of the population.
