ISLAMABAD: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) of the Cabinet approved several infrastructure uplift schemes worth billions for the development of the country.
The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin chaired the meeting. Minister for Finance for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Taimur Khan Jhagra, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, federal secretaries and several officials were part of the meeting. Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood was also in attendance via a video link.
The ECNEC approved the construction of the Dir Motorway worth Rs38,991.382 million. The project will be located in Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will include a series of tunnels, bridges, flyovers and underpasses. The aim of the government is to promote tourism and improve connectivity.
