ECNEC approves development projects worth Rs322 billion

ISLAMABAD: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved 13 development projects covering worth Rs 322.44 billion in a meeting presided over by Finance Minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh on Thursday.

As per the officials, Rs 13.260bn of the funds will be directed towards the improvement of primary healthcare facilities in four districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while Rs 20bn will be transferred towards the construction of four-lane Swat Motorway Phase-II from Chakdara to Fatehpur.

According to the details, Rs44.704bn will be used for the reconstruction of Shikarpur-Rajanpur section of the Indus Highway (N-55), Rs25.552bn for Greater Karachi Water Supply Scheme (K-IV) 260 MGD (Phase-I), Rs24.494bn for Sindh Resilience Project (Irrigation Component), Rs46.98bn for Nai Gaj Dam Project for Dadu district, Rs43.383bn for the construction of 69-km-long (four-lane) Sambrial-Kharian Motor­way and Rs14.75bn for the construction of Balo­chistan Integrated Water Reso­urces Management and Develop­ment Project.
