Development schemes worth Rs10 billion approved by Punjab govt

LAHORE: Punjab Provincial Development Working Party has approved three development schemes of the agriculture sector, Specialised Healthcare and Medical education (SHC&ME) and the irrigation sector costing Rs10,808.375 million.

The schemes were approved in the 25th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for the current fiscal year 2019-20 which was presided over by Chairman P&D board Habibur Rehman Gilani.

The approved development schemes included Acquisition of Land for Establishment of Model Markets at Rawalpindi, DG Khan and Sheikhupura and earth filling/construction of boundary wall at the cost of Rs1,409.203 million. The expansion of CPE Institute of Cardiology, Multan (construction of New OPD & Inpatient Block) at the cost of Rs3,266.909 million and construction of Dadhocha Dam, Rawalpindi for Rs6,493.263 million were also among approved development schemes.

Provincial Secretary P&D Imran Sikandar Baloch, all members of the Planning and Development Board, Assistant Chief Coordination Syed Naveed Iqbal, Planning Officer Coordination Muhammad Rashid, and provincial secretaries and other senior representatives of the relevant departments were also in attendance of the meeting.
