LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar, on Wednesday said that the provincial government, led by Prime Minister Imran Khan, has unveiled a universal health insurance program (UHIP) for Layyah at a cost of Rs. 13.80 billion.
As per reports, the program will cover seven districts of Sahiwal and DG Khan to ensure free treatment is provided to 11.5 million people.
The program will cover medical bills up to Rs. 7.25 lacs every year along with provision of five days’ medicine to the patients.
CM further stated, “Two development schemes have been inaugurated including Layyah city’s beautification and road infrastructure project costing Rs 30 crore and construction of 28 kilometre-long Roads under Naya Pakistan Manzalain Asaan Program which has been completed with Rs 38.2 crore”.
