Beijing: Being the flagship of developmental projects within Pakistan, China- Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has already created more than 70,000 direct jobs.
Since the launch of CPEC Pakistan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has increased from 4.4 percent to 5.7 percent.
From a total of 22 CPEC projects, half deal in the energy sector capable of generating nine billion units of electricity for four million households in Pakistan.
Likewise the Gwadar International Airport project which will link port city of Gwadar with the rest of world is another highlight of CPEC backed up $230 million from the Chinese government.
The upgradation plan of Karakoram Highway (KKH) connecting ML-1 is expected to promote linkage and uplift lives of people living along the route.
CPEC stretching from Kashgar in China to Gwadar in Pakistan is a network of highways, railways, pipelines and optical cables. It is a transport hub linking the Silk Road Economic Belt in the north with the Maritime Silk Road in the south through energy, infrastructure, industrial cooperation and Gwadar port construction.
