ISLAMABAD: In a meeting presided by Prime Minister on NCC on Housing and Construction, the Prime Minister was told that the construction sector can stimulate economic activities above Rs1.76tr.
While briefing the Prime Minister, an official in the meeting told that the investments worth Rs353.43bn will generate economic opportunities of Rs176.15bn alone in Punjab. Moreover, the capital will also create 315,678 employment opportunities in the province.
The Chief Secretary Punjab apprised the Prime Minister that, applications for conducting development work on 87.03 million square feet have been received by the authorities in Punjab.
Furthermore, the KP Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that the influx of construction activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa registered an increase of 128% in income generation and employment opportunities.
While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary Sindh briefed the Prime Minister that 22 projects pertaining to construction have been given a go-ahead in Sindh. The Prime Minister advised the secretary to increase the pace of the approval procedure.
Briefing on the digitalisation of land record, the KP Chief Secretary informed the Prime Minister that data of state-owned lands in all the districts of KP has been forwarded for digitalisation to Survey General of Pakistan (SGP).
The Punjab Chief Secretary on digitalisation of land records briefed that, data of all 36 districts of Punjab has been sent to the SGP.
Commenting on the digitalisation of land records, the Prime Minister was of the view that digitalisation of land is the immediate need of time moreover, it is the way forward to increasing efficiency in the process and protecting land from land grabbers.
