ISLAMABAD: To address the problems faced by growing traffic, the Capital Development Authority CDA has planned to construct a 7.8km long bypass in Bhara Kahu.
Frontier works organization will be carrying out the work and other details of the project will be reported by the civic agency.
Congestion of traffic has been an issue of concern for a long time in Bhara Kahu. The reason is, that the planners have not been able to develop the roads with the increasing population.
There has been a lack of public transport, therefore people use private transport and this plays a role in an increased burden on roads.
All these factors contribute towards harmful effects on the environment because of harmful carbon emissions.
An official brought to the notice that the former Nawaz-led government proposed a plan for Bhara Kahu Bypass but it was later postponed due to some unknown reasons now the project is being followed up by PTI member Ali Nawaz Awan.
He also added, the construction of this Bypass will help in resolving many traffic problems, especially for motorists, as a small area from Murree road to Bhara Kahu has always witnessed traffic congestion usually on the weekends when visitors from Islamabad and Rawalpindi move towards Murree.
