LAHORE: To prevent housing scheme scams, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has devised a plan that is to display complete details of the housing project on site.
The instructions have been conveyed to all regulators, which include the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA), Cooperative Department Punjab and Deputy Commissioners of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Sahiwal.
Fixed at the entrance, along with a map specifying the approved area, the information displayed will comprise of approval from the regulatory body, and a map of the blocks. Details of land reserved for public buildings, information regarding the development and construction of the property, and additional guidelines will be available for all members at the society office.
Due to intentionally hiding specific information from the general public, resulted in selling plots and houses with false information, without the compulsory approval of regulatory bodies, sale of not-for-sale areas, and selling land to the public which was not owned by the sellers/owners.
