Cleanup Operation Conducted by CDA During Eid-ul-Adha

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA), a federal development agency, undertook a comprehensive cleanliness operation throughout the city during the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. Divided into four zones, Islamabad witnessed an extensive effort by over 2500 workers and a fleet of more than 150 modern vehicles deployed for this purpose. In addition, the scheduled leaves of the concerned staff members were canceled to ensure effective execution of the operation.

To address waste management, the CDA dug more than 97 pits at 45 different locations to facilitate the disposal of waste generated during the festivities. These pits were meticulously excavated using state-of-the-art technology, adhering to the principles of health preservation.

In an effort to improve sanitation arrangements, two mobile gender-based cells were established, which remained in constant communication with the central office of the Sanitation Division. This step aimed to enhance the convenience and welfare of the sanitation workers. Furthermore, bio-degradable plastic bags were distributed in both urban and rural residential areas to facilitate the proper disposal of animal waste.

In line with their commitment to public satisfaction, the CDA administration provided helpline numbers, 1334 and 9213908, for prompt complaint resolution. Residents were encouraged to report any issues they encountered, ensuring a swift response and resolution.

The cleanliness action plan, titled “Clean Islamabad,” extended beyond the first day of Eid-ul-Adha and continued on the second and third days as well. The initiative aimed to maintain a clean and hygienic environment throughout the city, promoting the well-being and quality of life for all residents.
