Rawalpindi: A traffic plan for Murree has been announced by the City Traffic Police (CTP) for Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to CTP spokesman Wajid Satti, entry of heavy traffic would completely be banned in Murree from 07:00 a.m. to 01:00 a.m. Express Way and RMK, GT Road will be open for motorists while Murree Mall road would remain closed for all kind of vehicular traffic during Eid days. Parking at the GPO Chowk will be banned. View Forth, Hall, Bank, Guldana and Imtiaz Shaheed Roads would be used as one-way. Murree Brewery Chungi and Bansura Galli will be banned for buses and trucks. Traffic entering into Murree will enter from Islamabad expressway and return via GT Road. In order to avoid traffic jam, bikes and heavy traffic will be banned from Kuldana Chowk, Bansura Galli, Bypass Turn, Lower Topa Turn, Mesyai Turn, Salgiran, Tareet Chowky, Satra Mile Toll Plaza, MIT Shawala Muhala, Dewal Sharif, Barian, Double Motor Way Turn and Jheeka Galli.
A total of 90 traffic assistants, 264 traffic wardens, 17 inspectors, and five DSPs will control the traffic flow at the hill station and facilitate visitors respectively.
