LAHORE: The cement sector recorded a surge of 11% in sales, increasing to 4.8 million tons in the month of December 2020, revealed the data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
As compared to 4.3 million tons in December 2019, the sales of cement increased by 17.47%.
The northern region recorded an increase of 17.1% in the sales in December 2020, standing at 3.5 million ton in December 2020. However, the exports in the northern dropped 40.52%, to 0.12 million tons from 0.2 million tons.
The southern region recorded an increase of 19.47% in the sales in December 2020, standing at 682,854 tons. Similarly, the exports in the region also declined by 9.36%, to 0.5 million tons.
