Cement industry to grow by 15pc till 2023

KARACHI:  Due to the rising construction activities, the cement industry of the country is likely to grow by 15pc till the year 2023.

As per the details, the five cement companies have planned to increase their production capacity by adding new units to their existing infrastructure which will add to the growth of the cement industry.

According to the statistics, the sales of cement is likely to reach 58.6mn tons in the current fiscal year while the increase in demand will take the sale to 70.1mn tons by 2023.

The per capita cement consumption of Pakistan as per the estimates of FY23 is calculated at 251kg which is half of the per capita consumption of 500kg of the world.
