LAHORE: In a bid to increase the supply of cement across the country, the provincial government of Punjab has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the twenty-two cement industries.
According to the details, the cement industries will be established in those areas which have not been declared ‘negative’ by the public departments for ensuring compliance to the environment.
Secretary for Mines and Minerals Department of Punjab has informed that the NOCs have been given to the industries after taking into account the environmental impact assessment, and the recommendations of relevant departments.
The Mines and Mineral Department of Punjab has seen an increase in its revenues as the collection increased from Rs4bn to Rs10.19bn in the Fiscal Year 2021.
