ISLAMABAD: Two projects worth Rs345.626 billion were submitted to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) in a meeting of the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan.
A health project titled ‘Implementation of Universal Health Coverage under Health Insurance Programme in Punjab’ worth Rs332.844 billion was submitted for approval. Under the initiative, cashless in-patient healthcare secondary and priority care services to the entire population of Punjab.
The second project submitted is titled – ‘Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP)- Revised’, worth Rs12.782 billion was also submitted. The project will cover ower participation of children from disadvantaged backgrounds, poor teaching quality and lack of a Higher Education Management Information System.
Secretary of Planning Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh and other senior officials from the Planning Commission and federal ministries and divisions also attended the meeting.
