CDWP approves four projects worth Rs16.02bn

ISLAMABAD: In a meeting chaired by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan, the Central Development Works Party (CDWP) approved four projects worth Rs16.02 billion.

The committee approved the construction of Islamabad High Court Building at Islamabad (revised) project, spreading on an area of 20,000 square feet in Sector G-5, worth Rs4,989.26 million

The development works include the construction of courts, auditorium, car parking, and road paths.

The development of National Aerospace Science & Technology Park was also approved by the committee, at a cost of Rs3,481.584 million.

In addition, two projects submitted under the education sector in the meeting, including ‘Support to Basic Education Development Project for Azad Jammu and Kashmir’ and ‘Basic Education for all Projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir’, were approved at a cost of Rs5,971.55 million and Rs1,580.201 million by the CDWP.

The committee submitted the ‘Phase-II of Pak-China OFC Project for Establishment of Cross Border OFC Network (Khunjerab-Gwadar-Karachi) along with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Routes’ project worth Rs37,915.899 million to the ECNEC for further approval.

The attendees of the meeting included Additional Secretary Planning, Abdul Aziz Uqaili, senior officials of the Planning Commission, and federal ministries and divisions, whereas,  representatives of the provinces participated through a video conference link.
