Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is actively pursuing its anti-encroachment campaign in a comprehensive manner across the city. Under this campaign, actions are being taken to curb encroachments indiscriminately in various areas of the city.
In this regard, the Enforcement Directorate, with the support of other departments, conducted a major operation on Thursday near NUST University in Sectors I-12/2 and I-12/3, targeting illegal encroachments.
During the operation, heavy machinery was used to dismantle numerous structures and livestock shelters, effectively clearing the way for the development work that had been obstructed by these encroachments. As a result, 300 kanals of land were recovered and handed over to the sector development, facilitating the expedited progress of development projects.
Furthermore, in Rawal Town, the authorities have taken extensive measures against encroachments in light of public complaints. Several stalls and counters were removed, and four trucks carrying confiscated items were seized. Similarly, thorough actions have been taken against encroachments in parking areas and streets, including the elimination of multiple fruit stalls.
In Sector F-7, where the land mafia had encroached upon parking areas, creating issues for parking, the anti-encroachment team took robust measures to eliminate encroachments. Four trucks carrying government-confiscated goods were seized, and public walkways and parking areas were cleared.
Additionally, notices were issued by CDA to the owners of numerous buildings in the GT Road Zone 2 for violations, notably in cases of building bylaws non-compliance.
