ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Noor Ul Amin Mengal vowed to prevent forest fires in Margalla Hills.
Officers of the Wildlife Board Management and Environment Wing also attended the meeting.
Furthermore, it was decided in the meeting that the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) will take measures to prevent incidents of forest fires in the Saidpur Range.
“Section 144 has been imposed for the next two months,” said Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) Chairperson Rina Saeed Khan.
Moreover, it was directed that reflective jackets be made mandatory for First Guards.
Furthermore, the Chairman also directed the Indus Protection Cell to provide 4×4 vehicles. He said that those who cut trees or cause forest fires should be sent to jail rather than fined.
He further directed that the response time in case of a forest fire should be improved.
It was also established that a vigilant unit would be established to inform about elements that cause forest fires.
Additionally, special incentives will be given to the officials who show better performance.
