ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art multi-purpose sports complex in Shah Allah Ditta.
The proposed Sports Enclave is set to house a range of sporting facilities including cricket, rock climbing, zipline and volleyball.
The project aims to promote physical activity and leisure pursuits among the citizens of Islamabad by providing them with top-notch amenities.
The Chairman of CDA emphasized the need for such an initiative, citing the importance of sports for maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
The complex will be built on a vast area of 300 Kanal, which has been allocated by CDA for environmental and health activities.
Interestingly, the Sports Enclave will be modelled after a multi-purpose stadium to accommodate a range of sports activities, making it a versatile space for the public.
Apart from the sports complex, the CDA has also unveiled plans to restore the historic route of Alexander the Great, which connects Shah Allah Ditta to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all the way up to the Islamabad limits.
The restoration of this ancient trail will not only promote tourism but also preserve the cultural heritage of the area.
In addition to this, the CDA has proposed restoring Trail 8 and constructing a new trail from the Eight Buddha Caves to the Buddha Stupa. These restored trails will provide a scenic opportunity for nature lovers and hikers to explore the breathtaking beauty of the Margalla Hills.
