CDA to comply with EMP during IJP Road project

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) on Monday has instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to comply with the environmental management plan during the construction of IJP, Road.

While commenting on Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIA), Director EIA monitoring asked the CDA officials to submit a traffic diversion plan, and camp office location.

On the occasion, Pak-EPA also directed the civic authority to utilise machinery for the transplantation of 1265 trees.

Similarly, the agency also instructed the CDA not to dump the construction waste in Sector I-12 as a residential sector cannot be used as a dumping site.

In response, the officials of CDA ensured that CDA will plant 8000 trees along with the project similarly, drains will be constructed along IJP road to reduce the water accumulation.

Furthermore, CDA is also going to develop camp offices at Pirwadhai and 9th Avenue to reduce the impacts on the surroundings.
