ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA), on Monday, held its sixth meeting of the year at the CDA headquarters to announce the commencement of work on the Islamabad Bus Terminal.
The meeting was chaired by CDA Chairman Noor ul Amin Mengal who issued instructions for the presentation of the concept plan of the Islamabad Bus Terminal I-11 within two weeks, and directed work on the terminal to begin within two months.
The CDA board also approved the resumption of work on the cultural complex, which had been stalled since 2010, and renamed it Al-Hamra Islamabad.
In addition, the Ladies Club located in Sector G-10 was renamed Citizen Centre G-10.
The CDA Board also approved the establishment of a Green Fund, into which 2 per cent of the total cost of all major projects in Islamabad will be deposited.
All important projects will contribute to this fund under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and the senior officers of the environment and finance wings will be the signatories for the use of these funds.
The meeting further saw the approval of the establishment of CDA Pension and Endowment Funds, which will receive five per cent of the income.
Lastly, the CDA Board gave the green light for the construction of an international standard football stadium in Islamabad.
