CDA to amend laws allowing land acquisition at market rate

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has formed a nine-member committee headed by CDA member estate Naveed Ilahi to amend CDA’s Ordinance 1960 to allow land acquisition at market rate.

The other members of the committee comprise Deputy-Commissioner CDA, Director-General (law), Director of Urban Planning, Director Master Plan, Director Regional Planning, Deputy Financial Adviser,  Director Land, and Assistant Legal Advisor.

The final bill, after amendments, will be presented to the parliament for final approval.

According to details, Sections 2(k),32-A, and 12(2)(g) of the CDA ordinance will be amended. The cabinet was also directed to expedite the development of sector E-12 in the same meeting.
