ISLAMABAD: In a decisive move to preserve Islamabad’s natural beauty, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman, Captain (R) Anwar ul Haq, have spearheaded a rigorous campaign against environmental pollution and smog in the capital. The Enforcement Wing conducted a sweeping operation targeting a plastic factory in Sector I-13, Shams Colony, known for emitting pollutants causing environmental hazards.
Summoned to appear before the court of Senior Special Magistrate CDA, the factory owners faced immediate consequences. The Senior Special Magistrate ordered the immediate closure of the accused factories, along with imprisonment and fines, leading to the owners’ remand in custody.
The strict directive from Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman CDA compelled the Enforcement, Environment, and Sanitation Wing to carry out the operation impartially. Any lapse in execution would result in departmental actions against the responsible officials.
Further, two individuals implicated in illicitly depositing sand and gravel in green areas were apprehended by the police. They too faced sentences of imprisonment and fines.
Emphasizing a steadfast commitment to preserving Islamabad’s natural allure, the CDA administration asserted that stringent actions await anyone compromising the city’s beauty, regardless of their influence or standing.
