ISLAMABAD: In a bid to address the existing traffic issues, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has submitted PC-Is to the Ministry of Interior, seeking the approval and funding for the establishment of five interchanges under the upcoming Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
These projects are to divert traffic and further expand the road infrastructure, averting traffic interventions in the city.
The project would include the construction of an interchange on Kashmir Highway at the intersection of 11th Avenue, 10th Avenue, including an underpass on 10th Avenue from IJP Road to Khayaban-i-Iqbal and an interchange at the intersection of 9th Avenue and IJP Road.
The construction would connect the northern and southern sides of the city without any interruption. The construction of the interchanges as per the direction of the federal government directed the planning and Engineering Wing to prepare the PC-Is.
