ISLAMABAD: After a halt of seven years, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has resumed development work in Sector C-15 on a priority basis.
Despite initiating work last year, which was soon halted, the CDA management aims to prioritize the development of the sector now.
CDA Chairman Noor ul Amin Mengal confirmed that every effort will be made to expedite the development work and grant land to allottees as soon as possible.
The CDA acquired the sector in 2008 based on a land-sharing formula, wherein the locals received developed plots of 1 Kanal in exchange for a 4 Kanal plot. Although the CDA allotted plots against the land, allotment letters were never issued.
In 2016, at least 504 people were declared eligible for the built-up property (BuP) award, with 167 individuals placed on the A-list after providing the required information, and 337 individuals on the B-list.
However, a small portion of land called Dhoke Ashraf in this sector is still not acquired.
Sources indicate that before announcing the BuP award for this locality, the CDA needs to use satellite imagery to discourage fake entries, given their dubious history with BuP awards.
