Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Uncovers 1400 Illegal structures in Islamabad’s Zones 4 and 5. According to details, earlier the CDA had identified 800 illegal constructions in zones 4 and 5, but due to a lack of actions taken to demolish or penalize these structures, around 600 new illegal constructions have sprung up in these zones. This has led to a cumulative total of 1400 illegal structures in Islamabad’s zones.
A significant number of citizens are involved in investing in these unauthorized constructions. However, the list of these illegal constructions hasn’t been uploaded to the website.
Furthermore, the identification of these new constructions has been carried out in coordination with the CDA’s Building Control division and Geo-tagging. The Building Control division had requested the construction list to be uploaded on their website via a letter to the area’s enforcement and IT department. Unfortunately, even after 15 days, no action has been taken against the new illegal constructions, nor has the list been published on the website.
The CDA authorities have stated that they have written to the enforcement and IT departments regarding these constructions and that our representative will be working closely with them if enforcement actions are initiated. However, no information has been shared yet regarding the enforcement actions.
