ISLAMABAD: According to sources within the Capital Development Authority (CDA), a new business district may soon be established on the recently constructed stretch of Margalla Avenue.
Specifically, the proposed district will be situated in Zone 1 of the avenue, as revealed by a member of the Planning Wing.
During a recent CDA board meeting, officials were informed of the plan to create the business district.
According to details, the CDA owns a considerable amount of land in the area, estimated to be between 1,000 to 1,500 kanals, mostly located in Sector C-16.
This land is slated to be used for mixed-use projects, with a focus on apartment complexes that will also be marketed to overseas Pakistanis.
To help develop the area, the CDA is seeking the services of a consultant, with a preference for government-owned consulting firms.
If the proposal is approved, it will be the second business district in Islamabad, in addition to the already established Blue Area.
