ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board, on Monday, convened to tackle a wide-ranging agenda with the main focus on building control capacity.
Chaired by CDA Chairman Captain (r) Noor ul Amin Mengal, the board greenlit the formation of a Building Control Wing with highly qualified personnel, tasked with enforcing building bye-laws and putting a stop to illegal construction in Islamabad.
The Building Control Wing will comprise 50 teams, each with an assistant director and two supervisors.
Moreover, the board also approved amendments to the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Building Control Bye-Laws and Regulations 2002, specifically for construction on the Murree Road and IJP Road.
Additionally, the Floor Area Ration (FAR) for plots of 1,500 square yards was raised to 3,000 square yards.
In Zone 2, 4, and 5, the board granted approval for the allotment of educational plots on 33-year leases and also increased FAR for construction on these plots.
The schools to be built on these plots will be geared towards the needs of lower-middle-class and middle-class families.
