Islamabad: On the directive of Chairperson Noor ul Amin Mengal, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated a targeted operation to dismantle illegal showrooms in Islamabad. The crackdown focuses on shutting down unauthorized showrooms that had sprung up in various sectors and centers throughout the city.
In the initial phase of the operation, a total of 28 illegal showrooms located in areas like F-10, F-11, and Blue Area were sealed on the first day. The enforcement teams, comprising personnel from Building Control, Enforcement, and Estate departments, were actively engaged in these actions against the violators.
These illegal showrooms were not limited to encroaching upon public parking spaces; they also posed challenges to pedestrians. Chairperson Noor ul Amin Mengal had proactively warned property owners through advertisements, advising them against the misuse of their properties for illicit purposes. Moreover, all structures and properties found to be misused for unauthorized activities were earmarked for thorough examination.
To date, a total of 117 properties with illicit showrooms have been targeted for action. Following the expiration of the CDA’s stipulated deadline and the issuance of multiple notices, an extensive survey was conducted. This survey facilitated the compilation of a comprehensive list of illegal showrooms across various centers. Subsequently, guided by practical considerations, the implementation of these measures was set in motion. These operations are set to continue until every single illegal showroom has been effectively eradicated.”
