ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman inaugurated the I-12 project in a formal ceremony on Thursday, which aims to accelerate the development of the sector.
Officers of the concerned departments, including board members, were also present at the event.
The management has enacted steps to complete sector development work that had previously been halted or postponed, in order to meet the housing needs of the city.
According to reports, the development work will initially start in sectors I-12/2 and I-12/3, while that in I-12/1 and I-12/4 will soon follow under 42 (f).
The scope of work involved includes building and maintenance of drainage systems, sewerage networks, streets and culverts, among others. The estimated cost is around Rs. 542.788 million.
The regulatory body has stated that the work in I-12 should be completed according to the specified timeline so that the allottees of this sector can begin with the construction of houses on their respective plots.
Due to several delays, scant attention had been paid to these projects before. CDA has reaffirmed its commitment to this sector-wide initiative to monitor and carry out development work throughout the capital.
