ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday demolished multiple illegal structures, disrupting movement in front of almost 350 residential units in Sector G-11/2.
CDA’s Enforcement Directorate, the civic agency’s law enforcement wing, carried the anti-encroachment drive, after residents’ put in several complaints to remove illegal structures that go beyond plot boundaries.
Heavy machinery was employed to demolish the structures, with the assistance of Islamabad police and district administration. Fences, car sheds, and entrance gates built on government land were removed in over 22 streets.
For the past few months, CDA has been carrying out relentless operations against encroachments and illegal establishments throughout the city, resulting in the retrieval of millions worth of government land.
